Naomi Osaka and Jennifer Brady were the finalists of the Australian Open in women’s tennis, as they managed to triumph in the semifinals respectively against Serena Williams and Karolina Muchova.
The maximum attention in the semifinals was on the Osaka-Williams challenge, a showdown between the two champion generations, which was dominated by the 25-year-old Japanese, who won 2-0 with sets, or specifically 6-3 and 6-4, not leaving Serena no chance of reaction.
This will be the second time for the 25-year-old Japanese who will play in the final of the Australian Open, after the triumph in 2019, while from the other side Jennifer Brady went to the final for the first time after beating 6-4, 3-6 , 6-4 Muchovan, reports SuperSport.
At the end of the Osaka-Williams semifinal, the American appeared in a very bad psychophysical condition and failed to withstand the press conference, leaving from there in tears.
Asked if the time had come to withdraw, the 39-year-old replied that it was a decision that belonged only to her and then burst into tears and left the press conference room, as it was impossible for her to continue the conversation.
